Jonathan Michael Majors, born September 7, 1989, is an American actor who gained prominence after starring in the movies “The Last Black Man in San Francisco (2019)”, “Da 5 Bloods (2020)”, and also the HBO 2020 horror series Lovecraft Country for which he got nominated for the Primetime Emmy Awards. Jonathan Majors who was born in Santa Barbara County, California, U.S.A, spent his early years at the Vandenberg military base living with his mother who is a pastor, his older sister, and younger brother. This is because, their father was a member of the US Air Force. In 2020, Jonathan had this to say about his father.

“Our father, who loved us dearly, just kind of disappeared one day … and he resurfaced 17 years later.”

Though, the family has since reconnected with their father. The family initially had to move through various cities which includes Dallas, Georgetown, and Cedar Hill. Majors attended Cedar Hill High School and graduated from Duncanville High School in 2008.

He studied for his bachelor’s degree at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, and later attended the Yale School of Drama; he graduated with a Master of Fine Arts in 2016.

Jonathan Majors scored his very first onscreen TV role in the ABC MiniSeries When We Rise, while still a student at Yale School of Drama. In the series, Majors acted the role of real-life gay activist, Ken Jones. Later that same year, 2017, he would get his first featured film role in the Scott Cooper directed movie, the revisionist Western film titled, Hostiles, playing the role of Corporal Henry Woodson.

From then onwards, his career trajectory would continuously be on the rise, as he went on to get more movie roles, securing a role in the 2018 film, White Boy Rick and Out of Blue, with both films getting screened at the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival, with the latter competing for the Platform Prize.

In 2019, Jonathan Majors will go on to gain wide recognition after starring in the Joe Talbot’s critically acclaimed independent feature film The Last Black Man in San Francisco, and receiving an Independent Spirit Award nomination for his role in the film.

Jonathan Majors has in recent times, starred in notable projects like “Da 5 Bloods” alongside the late Chadwick Boseman, and Delroy Lindo. He was also starred in the HBO’s acclaimed series “Lovecraft Country”. His standout performances in the series, received praises from critics, with Majors being hailed as the emotional core of the show. Additionally, he led the cast in “The Harder They Fall” and appeared in several of the “Marvel Cinematic Universe’s (MCU)” films, playing different roles in Disney series and films too.

In 2023, Marvel Studios, as a result of the legal issues between Jonathan Majors and his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, announced that they will no longer be working with the actor. The announcement affected his involvement in all the upcoming MCU movies, including the Avengers movies franchise.

A father to a beautiful daughter, Jonathan Majors during the set of the MCU movie Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, in London United Kingdom, met his now ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, a British dancer, on set. The pair began dating in August, 2021. After being together for over two years, in March 2023, following a series of alleged incidents surrounding domestic violence during their relationship, the pair ended their relationship.

After the breakup, Majors began dating actress Meagan Good, in May 2023. The pair announced their engagement on November 2024, at Ebony magazine’s Power 100 event, where they had first met in 2022.
